Calle Mayor

“Calle Mayor” is a piece for ukulele in taro patch tuning (G C E G) written by Choan Gálvez. The score is included in Anthology of Alternate Ukulele Tunings, Vol. 1.

The piece is the author’s personal homage to Calle Mayor (Main St.), a location in his hometown that he used to frequent in his teens.

The first section is an habanera, which may remind the style of Tárrega. The second section is a waltz which pays tribute to Ernest Kaai.
