Choan Gálvez started collaborating with Donald Bousted in 2020.

This waltz—composed by the former and dedicated to the latter—was written in the first quarter of 2021, for the Waltz in Progress collection. They agreed to record and release renditions of this piece on YouTube on the same day (April, 2021). Choan performed with a hat. Donald recorded his using on the very same instrument that Choan plays in this video (recorded in 2023), that was beheathed to him after Donald’s death.
