Medina Albaida

Medina Albaida (the White City) was one of the nicknames given to Muslim Saraqusta (714-1118, later Zaragoza), Choan Gálvez’s birthplace.

And it’s also the title for this longing piece.

You may recognize the opening from Gaspar Sanz’s “Españoleta”, also used in Joaquín Rodrigo’s “Fantasia para un gentilhombre”.
